Archive for January, 2012

I enjoyed this post from Ann…. though my little ones are a long way from this point, it made me think…. am I doing what I need and want to be doing so when this day suddenly arrives…. I am ready… they are ready?  There are things I need to change, how about you?

Today, we must be preparing them for tomorrow.

When we all get to heaven,
What a day of rejoicing that will be!
When we all see Jesus,
We’ll sing and shout the victory!

from “When we all get to heaven” by Eliza E. Hewitt 1898

“But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.  Therefore encourage one another with these words.

“For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him. Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, 5:9-11

These verses stood out to me this weekend as I was reading through 1 Thessalonians…. to be encouraged in the hope of heaven….. to encourage others to be reminded of that hope we have. This world, this life, the day-to-day struggles and weariness is not all we have…. we have a great and incredible hope of heaven to come….. do you live in anticipation of that day?

After reading this Sunday morning, we went to church where the focus of the morning was on heaven (don’t you just love it when that happens ;-)) It was so encouraging to sing of heaven and be encouraged living with this hope and certainty is where we should be.

So as you continue your week, live in the hope of heaven!

This was a great post on a some simple changes you can make in moving to a real food diet…. all are pretty easy to do and truly make a huge difference.

Simple Real Food Changes That Make a Big Impact.

And for anyone in town – Costco over on Nevada sells Kerrygold butter in a 3 pack MUCH cheaper then anywhere else. It comes and goes in their stock, but if you find it there, stock up! It’s under $8 for 3-8 oz packs, compared to $5 for 8 oz anywhere else in town. We’ve just been using this butter for “eating” – toast, veggies, pancakes, etc for awhile now, I usually use a little cheaper butter for baking 😉 But a couple weeks ago I ran out and had to use my cheaper butter for eating and WOW, I could totally taste the difference……… even the real butter, just a cheaper brand, didn’t taste good. Kerrygold is awesome!
